Yellowstone Yurt Camp Photography Trip (February 13-16, 2025) FULL

The Yellowstone yurt camp is a new trip I'm offering for the first time this year. It's a unique experience to stay deep inside the park during the winter, with only a handful of people around. The company has been running this camp in the park for 40+ years, so we will be well taken care of there. Camp is located at almost 8,000 feet elevation, so they typically get a lot more snow than areas like Mammoth and Lamar Valley.

This trip is limited to three photographers like all my other workshops. There is currently one spot still available.

The yurt camp is located near Canyon Village, where we will start each day for our snowcoach tour. We will meet in the evening on February 12th to have dinner in West Yellowstone and introduce our photographer group. The morning of the 13th, we'll pick up a lunch in town and depart to the camp via snowcoach, stopping along the way to photograph. The 14th and 15th are full touring days, and our location depends on current wildlife activity. We should also be able to visit Lower Falls, Yellowstone Lake, and several thermal areas. We will stay three nights at the yurt camp, returning to West Yellowstone on the evening of the 16th. You'll want to plan to arrive to West Yellowstone on the 12th or earlier, and depart on the 17th or later.

Lodging is in heated "sleeping huts" with single occupancy. If you don't mind sharing, I have one female spot booked that is okay with sharing. This will take $400 off the total price. The sleeping area is 8x10 feet with two twin beds, so space can be tight with all the gear inside. 

The camp has a heated outhouse, hot shower, and sauna. There is a common kitchen area, where all meals are provided. The kitchen will have vegetarian options for all of our meals and can accommodate special dietary needs such as food allergies.

Total trip cost is $3,997, with a $2,000 required deposit to book. Remaining balance is due 90 days before the trip. 

Transportation from West Yellowstone to the camp, snowcoach, meals, and photography instruction are included. We will get a sack lunch from town on the first day, and additional meals are made at camp by the cook each day.
